RosRAO together with ROSATOM’s regional center for Central Asia, held talks with Kazakhstan oilfield operators and introduced the services for the processing of oilfield waste – metal pipes and oil sludge contaminated with natural radionuclides.
RosRAO in consortium with TENEX, Radium Institute named after V.G. Khlopin and RIAR won a tender for the development of technologies for analyzing changes in the properties of corium (a mixture of nuclear fuel and concrete resulting from the melting of the reactor core) in the process of aging.
The Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic issued a permit to open RosRAO’s subsidiary “Central Asia”.
The first batch of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) was shipped off from the storage facility in Andreeva Bay (Murmansk Region) for further reprocessing on June 27. The shipment was carried out by the lighter ship Rossita.

VI International Forum «The Arctic: Today and the Future» was held on December 5-7 in St. Petersburg. Among the key issues of the forum were the plans of the arctic regions to develop the milestone zones, government support patterns and practical matters in the Arctic regions.
It is already scheduled to commence the transportation of the spent nuclear fuel (SNF) from the coastal technical base in Andreeva bay, which intends the completion of a vital stage of the international rehabilitation project concerning one of the most complicated nuclear and radiation hazardous sites of the Murmansk region.
